Iain Hompstead has 19 years in the John Lewis Partnership primarily under the Waitrose brand as Investigator, Regional LP Manager and currently Information & Development Manager in the Profit Protection team (and product owner for Secure Store in Waitrose). He is passionate about transforming the ways of working and challenging/reducing what is seen as the inevitable cost of doing business when it comes to shrinkage, theft and fraud.

Greg Dring has been employed by Waitrose for 16 years, working in several shops for 8 years before pursuing a career in security & loss prevention. He has performed a number of roles for Waitrose Profit Protection, including his current role of Investigations Manager, which sees him using Secure Store to provide intelligence for the wider team and identify risks within the business that can be mitigated by change. He is heavily involved with self payment loss which includes self-service tills (SCO) and our Quick Check service that allows customers to scan and pack around the shop.

Prior to Waitrose, Scot Bradley worked in the travel industry for Thomas Cook for 20 years, as an Auditor and eventually Principal Auditor leading a majority of the internal and external investigations across Europe and the Middle East. He joined Waitrose as the Fraud Investigator 8 years ago, and now leads a team as a Fraud Manager looking at all aspects of internal and external fraud and dishonesty. When he is not investigating, he is managing two U11s football teams or watching Arsenal.

Tony has been a pioneer and an instrumental leader in Loss Prevention, serving more than 39 years in the industry. He began his career with Kmart in 1984, straight out of college, and worked for multiple leading retailers such as Federated Department stores, Montgomery Wards, Home Depot, Walmart, and currently at Floor and Decor.

Over his extensive experience, Tony helped lead the establishment of the EBR and Internal Investigation teams at Home Depot and Walmart. Sequentially, he used that experience to lead to the creation of the Investigation team at Floor & Decor.

Tony has been married 31 years with two sons and celebrated the birth of his first grandchild born July 18, 2023.

James Cosseboom is Director, Asset Protection for Retail Business Services which supports the Ahold Delhaize USA supermarket brands of Hannaford, Stop & Shop, Giant Food, The Giant Company and Food Lion. Jim is responsible for providing long term strategic planning, making decisions that are critical to the successful performance of the company as it relates to asset protection strategy for all of the brands. Jim has been with the company for over 30 years primarily in Asset Protection. He currently serves on the National Retail Federation’s Loss Prevention Council and as the Treasurer for the Loss Prevention Foundation’s Benevolent Fund.

Terry Sullivan is the president of The Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF), an international leader in educating and certifying retail loss prevention and asset protection professionals. LPF’s mission is to advance the retail loss prevention and asset protection profession by providing relevant, convenient and challenging educational resources.

Prior to taking on the role of President for the Loss Prevention Foundation, Terry spent 29 years in the retail loss prevention industry, holding various senior leadership roles with Lowe's and with American Stores/Albertsons.

Philip Biggs manages complex, real-time integration (RTI) projects for leading retailers around the world including several from the Global 50. He has had experience delivering integration solutions to global organizations and has contributed to several loss prevention and line-of-business solutions for major retailers.

In the years before he founded Sysrepublic, which is now part of Appriss Retail, Philip worked at Marks & Spencer as a key member of the Integration Services team and the Customer Insight Unit. Before that, he worked for several major hospitality companies including Compass, Roux Brothers, Marriott Hotels and Holiday Inn. He also served in the British Army. Philip graduated with honors from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in Business Studies.

Cheryl Blake oversees all loss prevention products. She has balanced her 40+ year career between being a retail loss prevention practitioner and working with software solution providers, beginning her LP journey as a store detective in Detroit and progressing through leadership positions with several large retailers. Cheryl is an active member of the loss prevention community.

Corey Adams is the vice president of Client Services at Appriss Retail where, since 2011, he has helped 100+ retailers around the world maximize their success with the installation, development, and usage of analytics tools and programs. Corey manages a team of consultants working in the US and abroad.

Prior to joining Appriss Retail, Corey worked as a professional services consultant with Tyco International, assisting retailers as they established and developed their analytics programs. He has more than 30 years of experience in retail and loss prevention – ranging from a Global 50 retailer to small specialty chains – in both field and corporate positions, as well as law enforcement. Corey has a BA in Sociology and Criminal Justice.

In this role, Vishal is responsible for all engineering functions, building and supporting the product suite, and helping bring new products to market that better serve Appriss Retail’s customers. He has more than a decade of software and programming experience working with a variety of different technology stacks, database solutions, and cloud providers. Previously, as the director of data science R&D for Appriss, he was responsible for building and deploying data application and machine learning models for retail customers as well as customers of Appriss Health and Appriss Insights.

Vishal has a PhD in Computer Science from University of California, Irvine where he focused on machine learning and data integration challenges and published more than a dozen peer reviewed research papers. He has also taught professional classes in data science.

Paul Disney is the director of product management for the Insights suite of products and has been with the company since 2017. His background in software product design includes time within the automotive and healthcare industries and he couldn’t be happier to leverage those experiences to drive life-changing ‘Knowledge for Good’ products. Known for often asking “what’s the problem you’re trying to solve,” Paul and his Product Team focus on finding innovative solutions to solve real-world problems by leveraging data and software resources. Paul loves working on vintage BMW’s but always prefers spending time with his wife and two daughters in his life-long home of Louisville, KY.

Director of Data Privacy and Regulatory Compliance
Tara McGuire is the in-house attorney for all Appriss, Inc. business units including Appriss Retail. Her focus is on the design and implementation of data privacy compliance procedures. She ensures that the company operates within the existing and emerging regulatory frameworks such as GDPR in the EU and U.S.-based privacy and security regulations regarding individual data privacy rights.

Tara received her law degree at Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville and her undergraduate at the University of Kentucky.
